Leslie Wood is a licensed clinical social worker, bringing over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in all levels of behavioral health. She has provided counseling to various populations in a variety of treatment settings including residential, acute/inpatient, intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization and private practice settings.
Leslie’s experience includes working with PTSD, trauma, anxiety and depressive disorders, sexual abuse, grief and loss, suicidal ideation, life transitions, bipolar disorder, borderline personality, LGBTQI+ identity and relationship concerns, family conflict, divorce, parenting and more. She is especially passionate about bereavement therapy, and working with children, adolescents, and families in navigating grief. Leslie has also pursued specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence based modality which changes the way stress-inducing images are stored in the brain. ART can reduce the impact of trauma and distressful memories, increase one’s capacity for resilience, and improve overall mental health in a very short time.
Utilizing a strengths based and individualized approach, Leslie incorporates modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Based Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Psy- chodynamic Therapy. Leslie also enjoys incorporating play, art, and sand tray as approaches to engage children, tweens and teens. She is currently in the process of training her therapy puppy, Maisie, to visit with clients!
Leslie has always embraced helping others. She considers her work, and the opportunity of getting to know you a great privilege. She is looking forward to seeing you in the office soon.
