April Register, LPC has a passion for helping struggling children, adolescents, adult individuals and couples. Having experienced the effects of alcoholism, depression, anxiety and mental health illness in her family, she has a deep compassion for people who are navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, family and relationship conflict, addiction, grief, parenting concerns, low self-esteem, self-harming, sexual abuse, spirituality, suicidal ideation, trauma, PTSD, women’s issues, and more.
April believes that counseling is a calling, not a profession. April offers over 15 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, couples and groups across the lifespan. As your counselor, she strives to create a comfortable, inclusive space that is safe for you to be honest and open.
April utilizes evidence based counseling techniques and psychoeducation, along with an environment based on trust, transparency and authenticity in order to facilitate the healing process. Drawing from extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method for Couples, humanistic and mindfulness-based modalities, as well as the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) parent training, April tailors each treatment plan to meet the developmental and relational needs of her clients.
April will guide you with compassion into self discovery. She will work with you to identify unhealthy core beliefs while encouraging you to strive for deeper insight. April is now available to meet virtually, or in person at our beautiful Castle Hills/Lewisville location. She is looking forward to meeting you.
