As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in the State of Texas, Ali earned her Master of Science in Applied Psychology from Texas A & M - Commerce. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University. Ali enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adult individuals, recognizing the unique needs and strengths each individual brings to the therapeutic relationship.
Ali strives to help others navigate the challenges and wonders of human existence. She adopts a person-centered approach, bringing in elements of cognitive behavioral therapy. This integrative and evidence based approach is tailored to each client's specific needs, strength based, and focused on goal achievement.
Ali believes in collaborating with her clients, learning about their experiences, perspectives, and goals, and using tools such as active listening, validation, psychoeducation, and sometimes humor. She offers experience working with a variety of people, and with a wide range of concerns, including clients who are neurodivergent and from diverse racial, sexual, and gender identities. Ali is also a Registered Behavior Technician who spent several years utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment, and working with children (ages 2 and up) on the autism spectrum.
Ali is actively working towards completing the requirements for full LPC licensure in the State of Texas, and is working under the supervision of Blank Slate Therapy clinician Megan Shelton, LPC-Supervisor.
Ali believes that everyone deserves a safe space to explore, process, and grow and she is honored to support her clients as they embark on their mental health journey
