Diara is a compassionate and non-judgmental counselor who believes that while we cannot control every aspect of the world around us, we can take control of how we interpret and deal with things in our environment. She strives to create a safe therapeutic environment, while simultaneously empowering her clients to lead meaningful and purposeful lives. She has extensive experience working with adults in various setting including inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient therapy, and private practice. She is passionate about counseling individuals experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, substance abuse, coping skills, racial identity, spirituality, anger, suicidal ideation, relationships, life transitions and others. Diara earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern University A&M College in Business Management, and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas.
Diara aims to be a guide while simultaneously empowering her clients’ growth. She enjoys helping others increase their knowledge and awareness of ineffective patterns, and replacing them by implementing more positive thoughts, behaviors and habits - ultimately leading to increased life satisfaction. Diara has a gift for helping adults navigate life’s transitions and adversities, while learning to embrace and value themselves.
Diara understands that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Her extensive experience with various populations allows her to be multifaceted in her approach. Clients can expect an assimilation of different techniques that are catered to individual needs.
Away from counseling, Diara enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking and cooking, art, and vinyl record collecting. She is looking forward to meeting you.
